Rainforest
Alliance
Rainforest Alliance is the most important certification program
defined by a sustainable agriculture network in order to develop
the technical expertise to reconcile production processes with
environmental and social needs. The aim is to preserve the environment
within agricultural activities.
Reybanpac was the first Ecuadorean
and South American corporation to follow these standards starting
in 1994. Currently, 7,711 hectares of banana plantations have
been certified. Along with Reybanpac's environmental protection
efforts in its own farms, the company is involved in neighbouring
community activities, where principles of sustainable development
and preservation are promoted. At the beginning of the new millennium,
the Rainforest Alliance certification means much more than just
a seal - it is the commitment to continue working with an environmental
philosophy for the benefit of the customers and, most importantly,
the ecosystem.
